The Cleckheaton Beer and Music Festival Is always a fantastic event and I attend every year. A great selection of beers and some cracking music. It is run by my wife’s cousin and this year I was given all access with my camera to capture a few shots.
As some of you may know I am shooting film as much as possible throughout 2019 so this was another challenge. I loaded my 1980 Canon Ae1-Program with some Ilford Delta 3200 Black and White film. Armed with the 50mm 1.4 and one roll of film I was eager to go, I arrived with a friend for a few pints and to cover the last two bands of the Friday evening.
The two bands I captured are:
The Manhattan Project www.themanhattanproject.co.uk
Elastic Waste https://elasticwaste.bandcamp.com/
I also home developed the roll in Rodinal for 11 minutes 30 seconds at 20 degrees C.
I love the feel of the photos, the grain on Delta 3200 is something else! I will definitely be shooting it more often. Ive left the photos as they are straight from the scanner so there is the odd hair or dust spot here and there but I like the look of them.
I enjoyed the challenge and I am looking forward to next year when hopefully I will be able to spend the whole weekend enjoying the bands and beer plus running more than just one roll of film off.
Prints are available for sale.
